I threw out some clothes the other day
Despite the fact they fit
Why I did is hard to say

We have got so much we don’t care about
It doesn’t seem fair
When there are people living in the world
Who’ve never had enough to wear

Then I went to the restaurant, hungry as I could be
A salad, a steak and a peice of pie just wasn’t enough for me
When I’d eaten until I was almost sick and nearly out of breath
I felt even worse when I thought about
All the people who’ve starved to death

We’ve got it all, if you think about it
Will be our fall, if you think about it
Silence is a crime, no doubt about it
Now is the time for us to do something about it

”If you think about it”, I told myself,
”See things as they are
We can’t let it go much further now,
It’s already gone too far
We want so much we don’t really need
